Alex is originally from Covington, Kentucky directly across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio. In the time he lived there he developed a passion for urban places and the issues they face in a rapidly changing world. Since then he has focused his efforts on addressing the needs for affordable and sustainable housing and transportation. He wants to live a life that is additive, not extractive, to leave the world a better place.
He met his partner hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2013. They traveled together to Peru in 2015 to teach English as a second language. They now live in Denver, Colorado with their dog, Fry, and cat, Lirael. Alex is a recent graduate from the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program at University of Colorado Denver.
